Gospel Inroads Into the Ivory Coast

Church Planting

God has called us to plant local, New Testament churches in both the hearing and deaf communities in the Ivory Coast. There are over forty cities and towns that, to our knowledge, do not have a Bible believing church. We desire to plant these churches with the help of qualified and spiritually gifted nationals with the end objective of rendering the church autonomous. These autonomous churches would then continue reproducing themselves according to the Biblical model.

Bible Institute

It is our desire to support our church planting endeavors through the training of Ivoirian men that God has called into the ministry. Given that the Ivory Coast takes education very seriously, it is vital that we continue to provide excellent training through our institute and seminary. We hope to partner with many of the graduates who are desiring to plant a church and assist them in the ministry to which God has called them.

Deaf Ministry

God has called us to minister to this marginalized community in the Ivory Coast. This ministry will be multifaceted as many deaf do not know how to sign in our town, and thus need to be taught sign language through a language center and school before we can share the Gospel with them. Our ultimate desire and goal is the plant a church in the deaf community with a deaf pastor or sign language fluent pastor who has been well trained and can shepherd those deaf who come to Christ.

About Us

Bob’s Testimony:

I was tremendously blessed to grow up in a missionary home in the Ivory Coast, West Africa. At the age of five, the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin through my father’s preaching, and I placed my faith an d trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. As I continued to grow and learn, God directed my thinking to full time Christian service, specifically serving Him on the mission field. I began Bible college with the purpose of preparing myself for full time service in the4 very same country in which I grew up. Upon completion of my undergraduate and graduate work, I returned to the Ivory Coast for a year and a half internship. During this internship, I completed my seminary degree in addition to becoming integrally involved in the ministries in the Ivory Coast. God used this time to develop my relationships with the nationals with whom I will work in the future. We are thrilled to serve God through the establishment of New Testament, local churches in the Ivory Coast, West Africa.

Micalah’s Testimony:

I grew up in a christian home in Trinity, North Carolina. My parents have been lifelong members of our church and consistently taught us about God’s love for us and the importance of having a relationship with God. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was sixteen years old. I was always interested in Africa growing up, however, once I was saved, God made it clear that He had a plan for me in Africa. My parents and the leadership of the church recognized this calling on the part of God and helped me raise the funds to visit the Ivory Coast. Through this trip, God confirmed that He wanted me to work in Africa, specifically the Ivory Coast. Because I loved my time on the field, I saved up for a return trip the following year. It was then that God brought my husband into my life. My husband and I were married following my junior year of college, after which I completed my undergraduate in American Sign Language Interpreting. We have been faithfully serving in our local church since then and look forward to God’s will for us in the Ivory Coast, West Africa.
